Ukrainian Recipes: Ukrainian Easter Bread - Babka
This recipe makes 4-5 loaves.
- Add yeast to the remaining ingredients, adding flour and raisins last to make very soft dough. - Let rise. When doubled in bulk, punch down and let rise again. - Put in greased pans (let rise). Bake at 325° F for 3/4 - 1 hour, depends on size of pans. Note from the Ukrainian Bread Calendar: this bread may be iced, and served with unsalted butter and honey.
